(PRESS RELEASE) On October 16, 2024, during the International Pet Conference 2024 in Brussels, Polina Kosharna, co-owner and head of the Suziria Group – one of the leading companies in the Ukrainian pet supplies market, received the industry award “Personality of the Year – 2024”.
Pet Personality Award was founded in 2006 by the specialized international pet business media PET Worldwide. It is presented every two years to leaders who drive innovation and raise industry standards worldwide. During the existence of the award, its laureates were Torsten Töller, owner and CEO of the largest European chain of pet stores, Fressnapf Group; Pavel Bouska, founder and CEO of VAFO Group; Rowena Artz, head of the largest international zoo exhibition InterZoo and others. At the same time, Polina Kosharna became the first Ukrainian to receive this award.
“This award is a kind of Oscar for our industry, and the fact that I was chosen as the “Personality of the Year” by PET Worldwide was unexpected but delightful news. This is more than a personal recognition; it is recognition by the world of the Ukrainian zoo business, which continues despite the challenges of a full-scale war to work, develop product lines, and implement the best global practices. This award is another confirmation that Ukraine is becoming a noticeable player on the international stage not only because of military events. We are creating success stories in business and industry, demonstrating incredible sustainability and the ability to develop in difficult conditions. And of course, we are grateful for this to our defenders, who allow the business to exist,” commented Polina Kosharna.
The International Pet Conference brings together innovators and industry leaders from around the world to discuss the trends, breakthroughs and challenges shaping the future of the pet products industry.
During the speech at the conference, Polina talked about the transformation of Ukrainian business in wartime conditions. In particular, she shared her unique experience of how local companies adapt to today’s unprecedented challenges, supporting their employees, maintaining operational activities, implementing social and charitable projects and finding opportunities for development during a full-scale war.
